The First Weeks of School...it's Fall!

Well, we all survived the first weeks of school. It has been quite an adjustment working full-time again but we're getting into the swing of things. Everyday gets a little easier than the one before. Carter has been doing really well. He has been so good about getting up and going every morning by 7:00AM. He's an angel! I hope it stays this way. My mom is able to continue to watch Carter this year and she has taken on a couple other children as well. It has been working out well for all of us. If only Carter would start using the potty, he could go to school...but haven't had success on the "potty-front" yet. He turns 3 in December, so hopefully we'll have a turning-point soon!

I am learning a lot about my job and starting to really enjoy it. I am still looking into some possible certification programs. I just received my Masters in the Art of Teaching in August, so I am trying to find a program no more than 15-credits. We'll see, if that's possible. I am accepting that I am a "lifer" with college. There seems to be no end in sight for this schooling thing! I will certainly be well-educated and well-indebt by the end.

Dear Summer, Where did you go?? I can't believe it's already Fall. Although we're all looking forward to the holidays. Carter will be Thomas (the train) for Halloween and we're coordinating his birthday theme again this year. He is really into trains these days :) The leaves are already changing colors and Halloween decorations are making their way out of storage. Hard to believe how fast the time goes sometimes...

Erin's Job Update

Some of you may have heard by now but I will be working full-time this school year at Central Grade School. It all came about last minute as an opening came available. I am SO excited. We finally get the benefits we've been needing for the past couple years. It's great coverage and we feel so fortunate. SO...what am I doing? I will continue working as a Reading Recovery teacher for half the day and then the other half I will be a Resource Room teacher for students that qualify for Special Education. I am not certified in Special Ed. so I am really honored to have been given this opportunity. I've always had a passion for the Special Education side of teaching, so now I am considering more schooling to work towards my certification. I've been told I'll always have a job, if I stay with Special Education. I feel so lucky!

A Great End to Summer- Part 2

More pictures from Empire beach...

A Great End to Summer!

My mom and I took Carter to Empire beach the other day. What a great day it was! The weather couldn't have been better. The wind was calm and the sun was hot. It was a great place to capture some great photography (my little hidden talent). I love picture moments! Enjoy.
